Role Purpose
As a Transport Coordinator, reporting functionally to the Transport & Customs Team Manager, you will guarantee product availability by providing transport solutions that deliver the optimal balance of Quality, Lead Time, Cost, and Environmental Sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
1. Transport Operations Coordination
Scheduling: Develop and supervise daily, weekly, and monthly transport schedules (frequencies, lead times) in close alignment with transport service providers.
Operations: Execute transport activities within your perimeter to meet customer needs, economic commitments, and delivery efficiency targets.
Safety Protocols: Ensure all safety protocols are strictly respected by service providers across supplier factories, PFS, warehouses, and store locations (focusing on parking, loading, and unloading areas).
Administration & Customs: Implement and manage administrative procedures to secure goods flows; route customs-related issues to the dedicated transport and customs teams.
Reverse Logistics: Manage return workflows and reverse transport operations.
Financial Control: Verify and approve transport invoices with the accounting department, ensuring payment terms are met.
Issue Resolution: Resolve operational disputes, claims, and disruptions with transport service providers, applying contingency plans when necessary.
2. Customer Satisfaction & Downstream Delivery Performance
KPI & SLA Monitoring: Track loading arrivals, carrier no-shows, delivery performance, and lead-time gaps to maintain high SLA standards.
Capacity Management: Prepare and communicate volume forecasts to shipping locations and secure required carrier capacity.
Continuous Improvement: Analyze operational data to identify opportunities and implement performance improvement plans; conduct regular performance review meetings with carriers.
Load Optimization: Collaborate with logistics and loading bay teams to optimize load capacity, reducing total trips, fuel consumption, and carbon emissions.
Claims Management: Manage the reimbursement process with carriers for lost or damaged orders.
Best Practices: Contribute to and share local best practices within the broader transport community.
3. Strategy Execution & Sustainability
Supply Chain Alignment: Support the integration of transport operations with overall supply chain strategies in collaboration with internal stakeholders and carriers.
Carrier Panel Management: Build and maintain a reliable, high-performing carrier network aligned with company purchasing policies.
Procurement Support: Supply Indirect Purchasing teams with data and insights for tenders and negotiations.
Budgeting: Plan and control the transport budget to meet financial targets.
Contract & Regulation Compliance: Execute downstream transport strategies, supervising contracts and SLAs while ensuring full compliance with transport regulations.
Special Transports & Market Innovation: Handle requests for ad-hoc or special transports, maintain a network of specialized carriers, explore new market solutions, and drive sustainable domestic transport improvements to lower environmental impact.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, Business Administration, or equivalent practical experience.
Technical Skills:
In-depth understanding of transport operations, freight market dynamics, and customs flows.
Proficiency in transport management tools (TMS/ERP) and data analysis tools (e.g., advanced Excel).
Knowledge of health and safety regulations governing loading and transport operations.
Languages: Professional fluency in English (spoken and written) is required. French is a plus
